It all began on a warm summer’s night.
AUGUST 2014
Mart had arrived in Tuscany in June with a spirit of adventure, the desire to do something different and fun with friends, in a country he did not know. He had met the local neighbours, who were very friendly and kind, and he was having the time of his life working hard and playing just as hard. Viola arrived at the Mulino trying to escape to a quiet and isolated place to study for some difficult exams. We had one dinner together and we were set. We smiled at each other and a spark lit.
OCTOBER 2014
Mart came back to Italy to visit Viola, who wanted him to experience her favorite places. One of which is Camogli, there we expressed our love for each other.
NOVEMBER 2014
Viola arrived in Amsterdam for her first haring. That did not go very well but her interest in the Netherlands had started.
2014 - 2019
In the next 5 years we took trains and planes a lot between Tuscany, Milan and Amsterdam. A LOT. We understood our priorities and being together as much as we could was at the top of the list.
SEPTEMBER 2019
We moved in together in Milan! We finally had a place we could call home. A safe space where we could DIY, relax and recharge.
FEBRUARY 2020
Covid hit and we were stuck together indefinitely and we loved it. There was no expiration date to the time we had and we realized how easy it is for us to be together.
OCTOBER 2022
A trip to Sicily changed everything. Mart got on one knee and with a pounding heart asked the big question.
